Saint Amand

(c. 584 – 675)

Amandus, commonly called Saint Amand, was a bishop of Tongeren-Maastricht and one of the great Christian missionaries of Flanders.

He is venerated as a saint of France and Belgium.

Saint Amand is the patron saint of all who produce beer: brewers, innkeepers, bartenders, and hopgrowers. He is also the patron of vine growers, vintners and merchants, and of Boy Scouts.
